Established in 1996, the Rhode School of Cuisine offers the ultimate culinary vacation filled with hands-on cooking courses, great food, fine wine, and interesting cultural excursions. The Rhode School is unique in that guests not only learn to prepare, cook and present fascinating traditional and new dishes, but also have the opportunity to explore the history and culture of the region.
Our Italian cooking school is based in Villa Lucia, a magnificent Tuscan villa with beautiful frescos and country elegance. Our Moroccan cooking school is based in our superb Dar Liqama palazzo in exotic Marrakech. Amenities include spacious rooms with lovely views of the surrounding countryside, en-suite bathrooms, antique furnishings, designer fabrics, exercise facilities, and tennis courts. At both locations we offer guests the opportunity to participate in our week-long cooking courses or to just relax and enjoy the surroundings and excursions as a non-cooking guest. Either way it's an experience you'll never forget!
Our experienced chefs will guide you though a week of hands-on fun-filled classes with emphasis on the art of fine cooking in a relaxed social environment. You'll learn about the cheeses, wines, and produce of the region and how to use local herbs and spices to prepare authentic dishes. Your schedule also includes exciting excursions to local markets, specialty shops, museums, historical sites, famous regional restaurants, and local villages that specialize in traditional arts and crafts. Your week concludes with a Graduation Ceremony and formal dinner.
