Cooking With Giuliano Hazan At Villa Giona

Cooking With Giuliano Hazan At Villa Giona

Join Us for a Spectacular Adventure into the Gastronomic Heart of Northern Italy

Giuliano Hazan and Marilisa Allegrini invite you to join them for a week of total immersion in Italian food, wine, and life at Renaissance Villa Giona, a stately mansion set in 12 acres of private park and vineyards near Verona.

A maximum of 12 students participate in intensive hands-on 5-hour classes taught by Giuliano that include homemade pasta, risotto, meats, local fish, vegetables, and desserts. Presentations on the major wine-producing regions of Italy are taught by Marilisa. Each class concludes with dinner in classic style complemented by wines from Allegrini vineyards and other distinguished Italian producers.

Activities include a visit to a rice mill, an olive oil producer, medieval Sirmione on Lake Garda, and a behind the scenes tour of the Allegrini winery guided by Marilisa. We also spend a day outside the Veneto to witness the making of Parmigiano-Reggiano and taste the rare culatello, an air-cured ham even more prized than prosciutto.

Your Instructors
Giuliano, like many other good cooks, learned his craft from his mother, Marcella Hazan. His first book, The Classic Pasta Cookbook, is an international bestseller with half a million copies in print. His latest book, Every Night Italian, won the World Cookbook award for best Italian cookbook in the English language. Marilisa's family is one of Italy's most distinguished producers of noble red wine. She regularly presents the wines of her native Valpolicella at stellar events throughout the United States and Europe.
